The third edition of the annual Rock Climbing Festival will be held from May 3 to 4 in Sokla Valley, Bhimeshwor Municipality-2.
The two-day event aims to promote Sokla Valley as a premier destination for adventure rock climbing, said Arjun Pakhrin, Chair of the Sokla Tourism Development Society. The festival is being organized in collaboration with various local levels, with financial support from the Nepal Tourism Board.
Climbing activities will be held on the cliffs of Sokla and Chakpa. Located just eight kilometers from the district headquarters, Charikot, Sokla village is known not only for its climbing potential but also for agro-tourism, eco-tourism, adventure tourism, bird-watching, stunning views of the Gaurishankar mountain range, and opportunities for religious study and research.
The Mountain Guide Association of Nepal is providing technical expertise for the climbing activities to ensure the event's success.
Organizers are hopeful that the festival will attract adventure enthusiasts from across the country and help establish Sokla Valley as a vibrant hub for outdoor tourism.
