The Government of Nepal has announced a visa-free policy for foreign students coming to study in the country.
The proposal was included in the national budget for the fiscal year 2082/83, presented by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Poudel at the federal parliament on Wednesday.
This is the first time Nepal is introducing a visa-free arrangement for international students. The move aims to encourage more foreign nationals to pursue higher education at Nepali universities.
The government has adopted a policy to attract international students to various universities across the country, positioning Nepal as an emerging destination for quality education in South Asia.
