On the occasion of the 2569th Buddha Jayanti, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli extended his greetings, wishing for peace, compassion, and enlightenment in everyone’s life.
In his message, Prime Minister Oli described Gautam Buddha as an "invaluable gift of light, humanity, and compassion." He emphasized that Buddha Jayanti is a significant occasion commemorating Lord Buddha's birth, enlightenment, and mahaparinirvana (final liberation).
Taking to social media, PM Oli wrote, "Buddha’s teachings inspire us towards right vision, noble thoughts, and righteous action."
He further noted that Buddha’s philosophy continues to guide the world toward peace and human dignity, reminding all of the values of non-violence, wisdom, and compassion essential for global harmony.
Buddha Jayanti is celebrated across Nepal and the world as a day of reflection on the teachings and timeless wisdom of Siddhartha Gautama, the founder of Buddhism.
